Options
These options allow you to configure almost every part of how Page 2 Stage operates. The sections include:
- Set general features for the program.
- Set your identity for the program.
- Set when the program backs up your script.
- Set which pop-up lists Page 2 Stage will display. Set how Index Card view will be displayed.
- Set how heavy (bold) the font will be - screen and printer.
- Set what dictionary and thesaurus to use in the program.
- Set how the program should automatically correct your spelling.
General Options
To give you an example of the breadth of the settings, here are the descriptions for the general settings:
- Select Entire Word - If checked, when you select text with the mouse it will select to the ends of the words at
each end so you do not have to move the mouse exactly.
- Typing Replaces Selection - If checked, if text is selected when you type a letter, it will first delete the
selected text.
- Overwrite Mode - If selected the program will start in overwrite instead of insert mode.
- Start - Every time you start the program, do you want it to do nothing, create a new script, or bring up the
last script you edited.
- Undo Levels - How many times you can press undo in a row.
- Align Dual Columns - If checked the character in dual columns will be lined up side-by-side. This is useful
when you are setting a translation (sub-titles) in the right column.
- Proportional Fonts - If selected you can select proportional fonts when setting the paragraph style. In the
United States and Western Europe you generally do not want to select this. In the rest of the world you generally
do as non-European fonts are generally marked as proportional even when they are fixed width.
- Script Directory - The default directory for reading and saving files. You can change this each time you open
or save a file. This is just the directory the dialog box starts in.
