Saving a Script

To save a script, click on the save toolbar button or select File, Save. If the script has never been saved before, you will be prompted for the name of the file.

You can also save all open scripts by clicking the Save All toolbar button or selecting File, Save All. All opened files with changes will be saved to disk.

If you opened a script as an RTF file or a backup file, when you first go to save it it will ask you if you want to save it in the Screen Writer Studio format (from RTF) and/or if you want to change the extension (backup files).

If you want to save a file using a different name or in a different format, select Save As. In the bottom center of the Save dialog box is a control where you can specify the format.

Rich Text Files – saves it as a RTF file with full formatting and page breaks. Use this when sending the script to someone who is going to view and print it only.

Prompted RTF – saves it as a RTF file where you can set options as to how it is written. You can save the script as a single long script with no broken paragraphs and no forced page breaks. Use this when you will be reading the RTF file into another word processor.
